Vancouver, here I am!

September, 15th 2019

Hi guys!

I am so amazed by my new life here in Canada! I have only been here 2 weeks but it feels like home to me.

Believe me, Vancouver is simply fantastic!

During the first week I started my English course, in order to get the Proficiency. It is an intensive one, with 5 lessons of 45 minutes each morning. But it is absolutely worthwhile, since I practice all 4 skills (Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking), but also Vocabulary and Grammar.

My classmates are very friendly people and all of them are eager to learn and pass the exam, just like me. Thanks to this full immersion into English, I realized my vocabulary is dramatically increasing! I think I am already thinking in English!

After a first week of intense study, I decided to have a well-deserved rest in the weekend. On Sunday I decided to visit one of the eight beaches of Vancouver. Once there, I felt overwhelmed by the view of the Pacific Ocean while I was walking by the shore. Later, I joined a group of young people and I played a beach volley match with them. In the afternoon, I went swimming and then I laid in the warm sun, until I watched the sunset.

During the second week, I joined a language exchange café. The meeting was held in a bar in the city center of Vancouver. Everybody who are interested in teaching and learning languages was welcomed. I has such a great time there! Not only I spoke Italian, Spanish and English in just one afternoon, but I also met very nice people, both Canadian and foreigners like me. Vancouver is a very international city, crowded with people from all over the globe. I will attend this social event every Thursday, at 6 PM.

So, that’s all for now.

I will write again very soon!

Hugs!
